Surrey: A 16 year old male from Surrey has been charged with two counts of Robbery and one count of Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose in relation to two separate convenience store robberies that occurred earlier this month in the Guildford area.

On August 1st, a lone male robbed a convenience store in the 15100 block of 96th Avenue. On August 7th, two males robbed a convenience store in the 10000 block of 152nd Street.

Surrey RCMP’s General Duty unit officers determined that the two robberies were linked and through a combination of seized video surveillance, and the assistance of the Robbery Unit, the young suspect was quickly identified and located. The suspect was arrested and formally charged for both robberies via a Judicial Justice of the Peace (JJP) hearing where he was released to his parents with strict conditions.

The investigation continues to identify the second male involved in the August 7th robbery.
