Surrey: RCMP is at the scene of a pedestrian hit and run that was reported at 6:45am this morning.

Road closures are currently in effect for both directions of King George Boulevard between 80th and 84th Avenue as officers investigate a fatal hit and run involving a pedestrian. The victim is a 57 year old woman who had been crossing King George Highway in the 8300 block when she was struck by a vehicle. She was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The suspect vehicle did not remain at the scene of the crash.

The Surrey RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) is leading this investigation with the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) assisting.

Police are advising motorists to avoid this area as it will be closed until further notice.
