Surrey: A 62 year old Surrey male has been arrested in relation to a fatal hit and run motorcycle collision that occurred June 24th at the intersection of 96th Avenue and 123A Street in which 16 year old Kevin Dhillon died.
The male suspect was arrested on Wednesday at his residence on charges of criminal negligence causing death and failure to remain at the scene of an accident. On the day of accident a silver Honda Accord travelling eastbound on 96th Avenue in the fast lane signaled to turn left in order to go north on 123A Street. At that time a motorcycle travelling westbound on 96th Avenue through the intersection collided with the Honda when the driver turned left in front of the motorcycle. The driver kept travelling north on 123A Street for one block before abandoning the vehicle and fleeing on foot.
The man is cooperating with police and has been released from custody until a comprehensive disclosure package can be forwarded to Crown Counsel at which time the suspect will be summoned to court.
