Surrey: Barry James Mcquarrie the suspect in May 12 homicide of Gregory Quesnelle on 17400 block of 57th Avenue. Quesnelle was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team took lead on this investigation as it was clear that it was a homicide.  A suspect and vehicle description was provided through a public advisory.

An updated media advisory was provided to the public with the name and photo of the suspect, Barry James Mcquarrie.

“IHIT and Surrey RCMP have been working around the clock on this investigation for the past few weeks and with the assistance of Langley RCMP, EDiv Support Services, Air one, LMD ERT and LMD IPDS, Barry Mcquarrie was arrested,” says Pound.

Pound said while details regarding evidence and the specifics of the investigation cannot be released, we can confirm that Mcquarrie was arrested from inside of a garage in a Langley home on July 4. Barry Mcquarrie was arrested on 4 warrants: Theft over $5000 (Surrey), Drive While Disqualified (Surrey), Theft of Motor Vehicle (Surrey) and Fail to Comply with Probation Order (Langley)
