Toronto: The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced a significant seizure of 12 kg of suspected cocaine at the Toronto Pearson International Airport (TPIA).

On July 6, 2014, during an inspection at the TPIA, CBSA officers monitored the offload of baggage arriving on a flight from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Officers observed anomalies with one of the bags. Upon further examination, the officers discovered 10 bricks containing a substance that field tested positive for suspected cocaine.

The packages of suspected cocaine were turned over to the Peel Regional Police and the investigation is ongoing.
