yoga dayUnited Nations General Assembly (UNGA) declared 21st June as the International Day of Yoga (IDY). More than 170 countries including Canada have supported this move. Indo Canadian Socio Economic Association (IC-SEA) organized very successful events last year to celebrate the first IDY. This year they are supporting the Consul General of India in organizing the 2nd International Day of Yoga Celebrations on 25th June 2016 from 9 am to Noon at Simon Fraser University (SFU), Segal Graduate School of Business, 500 Granville Street, Vancouver, BC V6C 1W6.

According to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, “Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition, embodying unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness within yourself, the world and the nature. Yoga is both an art and science for healthy living. Let us work towards making the International Yoga Day a success.’’
