As part of a new partnership between Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) and Guilford Town Centre, the university will be hosting its first KPU Showcase on Thursday, February 19, from 3-8pm at Guildford’s centre court (upstairs near Starbucks). Prospective students and parents are invited to stop by and ask questions, speak with students and faculty, and learn more about Western Canada’s leading polytechnic university.
KPU has four campuses throughout Metro Vancouver – Surrey, Langley, Richmond, and Cloverdale – each close to public transit, and connected by the free, inter-campus shuttle. The campuses all feature a library, learning centre, dedicated study spaces, industry-standard equipment, and new educational technologies.
As the largest post-secondary school south of the Fraser, KPU is home to over 120 unique programs in seven distinct faculties—academic and career advancement, arts, business, design, health, science and horticulture, and trades and technology—offering undergraduate
degrees, diplomas, certificates, citations, and apprenticeship training. Many programs are offered on a part-time basis, with select courses available in the evenings, or online, creating flexible schedules that allow students to pursue an education that fits their lifestyle. The university is known for its small class sizes and its polytechnic approach to education, combining traditional
academics with opportunities for hands-on experiences including presentations, group projects, guest speakers, field trips, practicums, and work experience placements. Thinking of going back to school? KPU has you covered. The university also offers a range of continuing and professional studies courses for individuals to continue their education, upgrade specific skills, or discover something new.
KPU provides more than 30 student services to help individuals through all stages of their education from application, to graduation. Regardless of student status future, current, or alumni KPU is committed to helping students achieve their personal, professional, and academic goals with services including academic advising, varsity athletics, recreation and fitness, counselling, co-operative education options, learning centres, career services, and more. Students at KPU can apply for a range of scholarships, awards, and bursaries totalling close to $2 million, with $250,000 in scholarships reserved for students enrolling at the institution for the first time.
The KPU Showcase is a free, family-friendly event featuring exhibits from KPU’s
faculties, and prize draws every half hour, including a chance for one lucky winner to walk away with a $500 tuition waiver. To learn more about programs, the application process and everything Kwantlen Polytechnic University has to offer, visit kpu.ca
