What better place to learn about fraud than from your local police. The North Vancouver RCMP is hosting a Fraud Awareness Day on Thursday, March 30th at the Civic Plaza – 100-Block West 14th Street, North Vancouver.
From 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, the Detachment’s Economic Crime Unit will be presenting to the public the opportunity to learn about:
- Safe banking practices
- Investment fraud
- Fraud schemes
- Electronic Recycling
The various information booths will be hosted by local groups such as the British Columbia Securities Commission, Blue Shore Financial, Electronic Recycling Association and the North Vancouver RCMP Economic Crime Unit.
The general public is invited to come on down, perhaps on a lunchbreak, to take advantage of this learning opportunity.
Police are offering this free seminar in support of March being Fraud Awareness Month. There continues to be a large number of fraud schemes out there that the public needs to be made aware of!
