Delta Police are confirming that the fire at 5052 48 Ave, the Tattoo Shop, is considered suspicious and is under investigation. The fire is believed to have started at approximately 4:50 am on Oct. 2. Delta Police and Delta Fire were on scene shortly thereafter, ensuring all residents in suites above the Tattoo Shop were safely evacuated.

The fire completely engulfed the Tattoo shop. Thanks to the quick action of fire crews, the neighbouring businesses on both sides and the five residences above received just smoke and water damage.

“Investigators have spoken with witnesses and residents but also want to put out a broader call to the community. Delta Police had concluded its examination of the fire scene, and has released it to insurance and restoration companies. Police will not be able to comment at this time on the probable cause of the fire.

The City of Delta is working with the impacted residents in the five units to ensure they have alternative accommodations.
