GAP Inc. has won admiration for its quick response to racist graffiti on one of its New York city subway ad featuring U.S. actor and fashion designer Waris Ahluwalia being embraced by a female model, along with the message “Make Love” and the Gap logo.

Arsalan Iftikhar, an editor at The Islamic Monthly, tweeted a photo of the ad taken by photographer Robert Gerhardt on Sunday that had the word “Love” scratched out and replaced by “Bombs” and the message “Please stop driving taxis!” written underneath.

The next day, Gap’s twitter account thanked Iftikhar for the info and asked for the ad’s location.

Then the company used the photo from its ad as the background image on its Twitter account to show its support for minorities.
