and Naturopaths may remember it as an example of REDOX in the cells but most have precious little understanding of what this molecule does or how to increase it in the body.

Glutathione is recognized by some MLM companies as being the Master Anti-oxidant. It is. Anti-oxidantss found in foods and herbs, not only operate on a one to one basis with your free radicals, but also only operate on a given type of free radical.

There are 6 major groups of free radicals that flood your body and they may be inside the cell or in the cell membrane or outside the cells. Different anti-oxidants usually only connect with one type and in one location. Glutathione, on the other hand, eliminates all 6 categories and wherever they are found. In addition, all other anti-oxidants only have a one to one benefit. Yet you have approximately 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 free radicals in the body – thus you need alot of those anti-oxidants found in food and supplements to even make a dent!!!

BUT glutathione has a one to a million impact AND it re-stabilizes all those other anti-oxidants!! Pretty powerful? No kidding!!! AND it is involved in a huge number of other functions in the body.

Red blood cells need glutathione to take on and release oxygen and carbon dioxide.

White blood cells need glutathione to develop and then to respond.

Glutathione also regulates many parts of the immune system, for instance it keeps the balance between T1 and T2 cells – if they are not in balance different groups of diseases result from which ever one is dominant.

Glutathione is involved in the regulation of most hormones in the body.

Glutathione is the major transport mechanism for all the amino acids inside the cell.

Glutathione plays a major role in protecting DNA from becoming cancerous.

Glutathione is the only known molecule that protects the mitochondria that produces the ATP fuel for the cells.

Glutathione is the only known molecule that both protects your teleomeres AND actually promotes new teleomeres – when your teleomeres get to short your DNA (your cells) cannot replicate and you will die.

Glutathione is the major chelator in the body, ie., it grabs all those toxic metals and gets rid of them.

Glutathione is the major detoxification molecule in the cells and in the liver.

When glutathione is depleted – anything and everything can go wrong in the body and the mind… But how do we know if need glutathione? Well virtually everybody does….it used to be accepted that we lost about 1-2 % per year from the age of 20 onwards.

Then we saw that people were loosing about 8-12% per year and starting in their teens. Now we are seeing that people are loosing about 15% and as young as 10 years old!!! Why?

Well, the increase in toxins in our air, our water, our food. Too much stress; too many medications, too much of the wrong kinds of exercise; not enough sun (without sunscreen); AND too little nutrient in our food – all contributes to low glutathione. So how do you get more glutathione?

Glutathione does not suffer the hydrochloric acid in our stomachs AND there are no transport mechanisms into the cells.

The cells can release it outside and does so in the liver and the kidneys…but we need to get the cells to make it on the inside…so how do we do that? Well there are two ways…

1) we can turn on the DNA in the cells, that makes the tools to make glutathione

2) we can provide the cells with a pancake mix of all the right nutrients in the right ratios to make glutathione
