Port Moody:  On Sunday, July 10 just before 1:30 pm the Port Moody Police responded to a domestic dispute in progress at a residence in the 3300 block of Dewdney Trunk Road.

Upon arrival, the residence was engulfed in flames and 2 adults remained inside. The Port Moody Police Officers who attended the scene acted quickly and retrieved the occupants of the home.  The Port Moody Fire Department was called to assist and the fire was contained.

An adult female was located inside the residence suffering from extensive burns to her body. She was immediately transported to hospital, however, she succumbed to her injuries just after 6:00pm.

“This incident is one that is tragic beyond words.  Despite the intensity of the fire, the children, with assistance from the general public, managed to escape the burning home with minimal physical injuries. Thank you to the public who assisted with this rescue,” says Staff Sergeant Jennifer Pound.
