Surrey: IHIT is investigating the deaths of two women, aged 83 and 61 years old in a home located on 111A Avenue at 136th Street, in the Bridgeview neighbourhood. Surrey RCMP was called in the evening on May 1 and later the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was requested to attend and has assumed conduct of this investigation. Surrey RCMP has since secured the residence and The Investigators will process the scene today with the assistance of the Integrated Forensic Identification Section. The preliminary information suggests that the two victims knew each other and we do not believe that this incident is a random act. The investigators will be requesting that autopsies be conducted to assist them in their investigation.
“We are in the very early stages of this investigation and we are working to establish what happened inside the residence. We do not believe there’s a third party involved and we are yet to determine if foul play is a factor.” says Cpl. Dominic DUCHESNEAU.
IHIT is asking anyone who may have information about these suspicious deaths to call, the IHIT Tipline at 1-877-551-4448 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
