Caring for our loved ones is something that we all have to or will have to do in our lifetime. Such is the job of Eric and Jocelyn Macdonald, the pair of siblings who took it upon themselves to serve our community’s seniors by providing them with good quality care at an affordable price. Eric and Jocelyn are the Vancouver franchisees of a franchise called Premier Homecare Services.
Premier Homecare Services is a Canadian company with twelve offices across Canada. They are the only Senior Care service that is run by a Registered Dietitian (RD)/Nutritionist. Jocelyn Macdonald has a Masters in Health Administration from UBC and is the Managing Director of the Vancouver Branch.
Eric and Jocelyn’s motivation to get into this business came from their father who they took care of while he was ill. This really made them realize the importance of homecare services and how important they are for our society.
They are accredited with Exemplary Standing by Accreditation Canada which makes their business very unique and well designed. All employees
before being hired are screened thoroughly with sufficient amounts of background and reference checks as this business requires that the patient being cared for is safe at all times. All the staff is uniformed at all times as well as required to wear ID Badges and are monitored by supervisory staff 24/7.
Some of the services that Premier Homecare Services provide include light housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, cognitive therapy
programs, assisting with daily living tasks, and many other day-to-day tasks. They also are able to provide transportation services to their clients which is very important as this helps with the client being mobile without having to rely on others.
Eric and Jocelyn currently have an existing list of over 50 clients all over the lower mainland and have a staff of 45. They hope to “give more talks and presentations” in the future and bring awareness of homecare services to more people.
