Kamloops: Identity of human remains found by Kamloops RCMP is unclear. RCMP received a call by a passerby which indicating that possible human remains were located in a remote area off the west end of Mission Flats Road. Serious Crime Unit investigators have attended the scene and confirmed that finding are human remains.
Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Cheryl Bush says they’ve called in the Special Investigative Unit and the coroner to proceed with excavation of the area and to continue the investigation.
Bush says there is no new information as to how old the remains are, or any additional information as to the age and sex of the person found and it could take a couple of weeks before the remains are identified.
The investigation is ongoing and specialists from the BC Coroners Service have attended the scene to work with RCMP investigators.
