New Delhi: Former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and two other Aam Aadmi Party leaders were granted bail by a trial court in a criminal defamation complaint filed against them by an advocate after they furnished personal bonds.
Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Yogendra Yadav appeared the court in pursuance to summons issued against them and were released on bail after they furnished a personal bond of Rs 10,000 each. Metropolitan magistrate Muneesh Garg has now fixed the matter for August 16.
The AAP leaders were summoned on the complaint of advocate Surender Kumar Sharma by the court which had said there was prima facie material to summon them as accused. Sharma had alleged that in 2013 he was approached by volunteers of AAP for contesting Delhi assembly election but the ticket was later denied to him.
