Lahore: The Lahore High Court issued notices to 63 politicians including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on a petition asking the politicians to bring their foreign assets back to Pakistan.

The court issued notices to 63 politicians including the prime minister, Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain , former president Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan to submit their response in this regard.

The hearing was held in the courtroom of the High Court judge Justice Khalid Mahmood Khan, in which the petitioner Barrister Javed Iqbal Jafri contended that most of the politicians had transferred their assets illegally to foreign countries and if these were brought back to Pakistan, the country would be free of external debt.

The court further ordered that the politicians who could not be informed, should be notified through advertisements.
