Smooth Sailing!

Set sail to the International Village Cinemas to take in Mongrel Media’s Maiden. Made with conviction by Sony Pictures Classics this dynamic biography charts the tumultuous life of one determined young lady.
Breaking barriers is hard to do. Maiden examines the life of Tracy Edwards. Born to a good family all things went well for this Brit. But a family death and remarriage saw the young lass lose her way through a fault not her own. Ugly abuse led her to go down her own path. That wayward journey led her into a Bohemian nomadic lifestyle getting her into trouble at school and at home. Looking for escape and a Better life and bitten by the travel bug this is where our story picks up steam. Drawn to the beach and with a Little bit of luck Tracy became a cook and the all around go to girl for a group of British sea fares  and the rest, as they say, is history.
Dreams drive people and this tomboyish gal always wanted to be the skipper on a vessel at the prestigious International Whitfield Yacht Race. First as a worker and then as her own skipper Maiden reveals the impressive way a woman broke the sex barrier in this cloistered club and the many obstacles cast her way.
