Vancouver: A 51 year-old male has been arrested for the theft of 70 truck batteries from within the North Vancouver area. On September 07, North Vancouver RCMP arrested the Surrey resident for the multiple thefts of batteries which occurred during the month of August. The batteries were stolen from commercial trucks parked in various industrial locations.
Using video evidence obtained from one victim police were able to move forward in the investigation and subsequently identified the person of interest. Each battery had an approximate value of $250.00 which meant that a total value of $17,500.00 in property had been stolen. Theft charges are being forwarded to the BC Prosecution Service.
The accused’s vehicle, which was used in the commission of the thefts, was seized by police. The RCMP released the accused on a Promise to Appear (with conditions to not go to North Vancouver) with a court appearance set for November 14, 2018.
