Abbotsford: Abbotsford Police arrested a 42 year old man who threw hot soup on female employee of a restaurant. On October 12, the accused entered a restaurant in the 32700 block of South Fraser Way. He ordered a soup and sandwich and left the restaurant. A few minutes later the man returned to the restaurant and complained about his sandwich. A female employee attempted to deal with the upset customer, but he remained angry. Suddenly the man threw his hot soup on the face and chest of the employee and left the restaurant. A witness obtained the license plate of the vehicle the man departed in and the Abbotsford Police were called.

The employee suffered minor burns to her chest, neck and face and she was understandably shaken by the incident.

Abbotsford Police located the residence of the accused and arrested him. The APD are recommending a charge of Assault with a Weapon against the man. His criminal history includes convictions for Assault with a Weapon, Break and Enter, Theft Under and Theft Over $5000.
