Surrey: A 23 year old Surrey woman, the child’s mother, is now facing the following charges: Failure to Provide the Necessaries of Life and Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm. The suspect’s name will not be released due to a publication ban on this matter. In cases like this, the RCMP would refer to the Ministry of Children and Family Development to ensure the child is safe and cared for. The child’s condition has improved. RCMP advises that charges have been laid in a child neglect investigation.

On June 16th, 2014 Surrey RCMP received a complaint of a neglected two year old child who had been brought into a local area hospital. Investigators with the Surrey RCMP’s Special Victims Unit immediately became engaged and after an intensive investigation made an arrest on August 29th, 2014.
