On October 11, just before 2:00 p.m., the Surrey RCMP was called to the 6700 block of 130 Street after a report of a shooting was received. Upon police attendance, an adult victim was located suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite all attempts to revive the individual they succumbed to their injuries.
Based on the investigative theory in this initial phase, this does not appear to be a random act.
The area surrounding the scene will be cordoned off for a significant amount of time. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP.
Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase, no further information will be provided at this time.
Further details and media availability will be handled by the IHIT Media Relations Officer.
