‘ Walk A Mile in Her Shoes’ is a fundraising event being organized by a women’s society in Whistler. The Howe Sound Women’s Centre Society organized its 5th annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event last week and Sgt. Knapton was the top fundraiser this year. He raised $3,800 in pledges, and wore his RCMP bike uniform for the event, through the Whistler Village. The event helps raise awareness about violence against women. “I have to confess my toes were a bit pinched by the end of the walk, But having fantastic community support, and the onlookers cheering us on, got all us men through it, “says Sgt. Rob Knapton. It was his second time participating in the walk, and he wore his uniform this year at the request of the Women’s Centre.
