Ron MeadleySurrey: Surrey City Council named Ron Meadley this year’s Good Citizen of the Year on Tuesday night at the City’s annual volunteer services celebration. The event was established by the City of Surrey and honours committee volunteers for their hard work throughout the year.
“Ron Meadley has passionately advocated for the conservation and enhancement of Surrey’s natural areas for many years. His tireless work for the protection of the environment will have a lasting impact in our city. Known for his collaborative approach to the issues, Ron has set a wonderful example of leadership for our community,” says Mayor Dianne Watts. “Because of efforts like Ron’s, we continue to benefit from many talented people who contribute their time and energy to help build a stronger Surrey.”

legacies include: Vice-President, Semiahmoo Fish and Game Club
Vice-President, Little Campbell Watershed Society; President, Sunnyside Acres Heritage Society; Chair, Sunnyside Acres Advisory Committee since 2008;Sunnyside Acres Friend of the Forest since 2005.
The Good Citizen award recipient is chosen by Council and is presented to a City of Surrey resident who has given outstanding services for the betterment of the community.
