Vancouver: Salim & Sulaiman Merchant who are known as ‘The Sufi Merchants of India’ are going to create an unforgettable musical experience at Vancouver’s landmark Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Saturday , November 1 as they start their North American tour this weekend. Coming with ‘ Indian Idol 2012’ Vipul Mehta, accomplished Shweta Pandit and young singer/composer Raj Pandit, Salim Sulaiman will also be accompanied by prominent musicians and Engineers from Mumbai in what promises to be the South Asian concert of the year. Salim, with more Sufi hits than any other artist in Bollywood , has been composing hits after hits for some time in hit films like Qurban, Rab Ne Banadi Jodi, Fashion, Dor, Iqbal, Aaja Nachle & Mardaani to name a few and they’re going to recreate that same magic at the concert. Salim also confirmed that their group will be presenting a tribute to Bollywood’s legends and for that they’ll be accompanied by a 15-member choir group called Vancouver Vibrant Voices under the guidance Lynley Lewis, conductor, Arranger & composer for over 30 years. Since 2006, the choir has performed at many concerts all over and they’ll be accompanying Salim Sulaiman at many Sufi & Bollywood songs for an amazing experience. Like KVP Entertainer’s last concert of Shreya Ghoshal , Shiamak Davar Vancouver team will open the concert with a bang again but this time, the dancers will also join the team in many Bollywood songs like ‘Aiveyy Aiveyyi’ from Band Baaja Baraat and other hits and together , their magic will leave a long lasting impression for years to come.
