Surrey: Surrey RCMP is currently on sceneĀ in South Surrey for a report of shots fired in the parking lot of a hotel.

Today early morning approximately 3:10am, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the 1100 block of King George Boulevard. Officers attended and located shell casings in the area as well as persons that police believe may be associated to the incident. A total of nine individuals have been arrested. One person was treated for minor injuries as a result of broken glass fragments.

The initial investigation has revealed that an altercation occurred between individuals resulting in shots being fired between vehicles. Two vehicles were seen fleeing the area with one of them being located shortly thereafter. Investigators believe the second vehicle associated to this incident has also been located in another jurisdiction and are working to confirm this information.

The investigation is still in its early stages, but indications are that this is a targeted incident involving individuals known to each other. Officers are conducting neighbourhood canvassing and are speaking with several witnesses to obtain further information.
