Surrey: RCMP is currently on scene in the North Surrey area for a report of a stabbing.

At approximately 2:30pm on September 10th Surrey RCMP responded to a report of an altercation and stabbing on a bus in the area of 100th Avenue and King George Boulevard.

Upon arrival, officers located one victim suffering from stab wounds on a transit bus in the area. The victim, a young adult male, has been taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. A male suspect was located nearby and taken into custody without incident. He has since been transferred to hospital with minor injuries sustained during the stabbing altercation.

Officers are canvassing the area and speaking with passengers on the transit bus to obtain further information. At this point, it is still unclear if the parties knew each other or what the altercation was about.

The investigation is still in its very early stages. More information will be released as it becomes available.
