SURREY RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a sexual assault. On Sunday, January 5, between 5 and 6 p.m., a 25-year-old Surrey woman was physically and sexually assaulted in the Fleetwood Park area in the 15700 block of 80th Avenue in Surrey, while walking home from a local restaurant.
The unknown male suspect initially approached the victim on the sidewalk near the intersection of 158 Street and 80 Avenue. The victim was then taken to a nearby baseball field in Fleetwood Park where the sexual assault occurred.
The suspect is described as a pale skinned male, 25-35 years old, 6’ tall, with a gaunt face, deep set facial features, prominent high cheekbones and no facial hair. He was wearing black soccer style track pants, possibly Adidas brand, with white stripes running down the outside of the left leg. He was also wearing a baggie, oversized dark (possibly navy colored) hoodie and black sneakers with white soles.
This is believed to be an isolated incident at this time. Police are actively seeking witnesses to this crime and looking for any information that may help to identify the suspect.
