On January 23, 2017 just before 9:15 pm the Surrey RCMP was called to the 12900 Block of 96 Avenue after several reports of gunshots was received. Upon police attendance, an adult victim was located in a vehicle that had crashed into the sign at the Macdonald’s restaurant; suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders the individual succumbed to their injuries. This is believed to be a targeted incident.

The area surrounding the scene will be cordoned off for a significant amount of time. The Integrated

Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP.

Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase, no further information will be provided at this
