Surrey Campus Walkway_rszKwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) is home to over 120 programs—many of which are unique to the university itself and can’t be found elsewhere. As Canada’s only polytechnic university, KPU is committed to providing hands-on experiential learning opportunities in a range of degree, diploma, certificate and citation programs.

Established in 1981, KPU began as a local college, before transitioning to a degree-granting university college, and later, in 2008, assuming the role of a polytechnic university. The university now includes four campuses across Surrey, Langley, Richmond, and Cloverdale, with a fifth campus, Civic Plaza in Surrey City Central, opening later this year.

In addition to a range of academic programs in arts, business, design, health, science and horticulture, and trades and technology, the university also offers testing and upgrading options and English language studies courses, some of which are tuition-free. With a maximum of 35 students per class, and instructors with real-world experience in their field, learners are supported throughout their education—from application to graduation.

KPU provides nearly $2 million dollars annually in scholarships, awards, and bursaries to students pursuing their education, with $250,000 available specifically for students enrolling at the university for the first time.
