Kabul: Two Canadians were among the nine foreigners killed in a Taliban attack on Serena Hotel in Kabul.
“Nine people were killed in Taliban attack on the Serena Hotel, besides four gunmen,” said an Afghan security source. One of two Canadians killed in a shooting rampage at a luxury Afghanistan hotel has been identified as Roshan Thomas who is resident of Metro Vancouver. She was known to be a social activist and was working with children in the war-torn region. The name of the other Canadian victim is Zeenab Kassam of Calgary. The attack took place when four men with pistols stuffed in their socks stormed the Serena Hotel in Kabul, a popular hotel for the diplomatic community. All of the gunmen were reportedly killed by Afghan troops.
