The Richmond RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance regarding a motor vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Sidaway Rd. and Steveston Hwy.

On January 24, at approximately 7:25 pm, Richmond RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Sidaway Rd. and Steveston Hwy, involving a white 2012 BMW and a black 2016 GMC Yukon. The driver and passenger from both vehicles were transported to a local area hospital. All four sustained minor injuries and were released from hospital later that evening.

 “A dark colored Hyundai Sante Fe was driving eastbound on Steveston Hwy towards the movie theatre immediately behind the GC Yukon when the collision occurred”, says Sergeant Nigel Pronger, Operational Teams NCO, “the driver pulled over to assist, but then departed before responding members were able to speak to them. Our investigators would like to speak to this witness”.

The cause of this collision remains under investigation. Both speed and driver impairment are being considered.  The Richmond RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) has conduct of this investigation.
