On March 30, just before 7 p.m., an incident occurred between two skiers on Grouse Mountain on the ski run, The Cut. One of the skiers, who was a youth, sustained a head injury that was initially thought to be minor, but turned out to be serious enough to require hospitalization. The youth is currently recovering at home.

The North Vancouver RCMP and Grouse Mountain are working together to identify the second skier involved, and are asking that person to come forward. Anyone with video footage from The Cut between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on March 30 is asked to contact police.

Police would also like to speak with any eyewitnesses or anyone with information about the incident. To assist in remembering the incident, the youth was wearing:

  • white Adidas brand hooded sweatshirt
  • dark blue toque
  • tan colored pants
