Surrey: Surrey’s new City Hall officially opened for business on Monday, February 17, 2014. The flagship building will serve as new city landmark in Surrey’s City Centre.
“The City Hall is an iconic piece of architecture that has been purpose-built to serve the community,” said Mayor, Dianne Watts. “It is a City Hall that residents can be proud of, and it represents a milestone in Surrey’s transformation into the region’s next great metropolitan center.”
City centre has attracted more $3 billion of investment since the announcement of new ‘City Hall’ in City Centre.New City Hall amenities for the community include: Improved service delivery, streamlining four previously separate service areas into one-stop counter services; City Hall Plaza as a gathering/celebration venue and urban park space; A theatre/performing arts venue programmed year round with events; Meeting rooms; Public Daycare. The official City Hall Grand Opening for the community will be held on Saturday April 26, 2014.
