Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Visual Art Foundation is coming back with Art Downtown, an outdoor summer art festival dedicated to connecting artists and the public in a fun and inclusive environment. We invite all artists to submit an application to be part of the growing celebration of visual art in one of the busiest parts of the city during the summer months.

Returning for its third consecutive year, Art Downtown is done in partnership with the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association. The goal is to create a vibrant, free and walkable space full of visual art, similar to what exists in other cities, most notably with Montmartre in Paris, France. Visitors will have the chance to engage in art demonstrations, walk about the plaza and speak with artists or just sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

The season-long exhibition is an opportunity for artists to come face-to-face with the public, to speak about their passion and to sell their work. All proceeds of artist sales go directly to the artists.

On Wednesdays at Lot 19 and Fridays at Jack Poole Plaza, the public will be treated to displays of paintings, photography and sculpture; live music, art competition and more.
