Surrey: Two women have been in injured in a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of 88th Avenue and 148th Street. The incident took place around 8:00 am today.Reportedly two vehicle collided and one of the vehicle hit  two women standing at the bus stop.

Officers at the scene spoke to several witnesses who stated that they observed a GMC van travelling south bound on 148th Street  that was hit by a Tacoma pick-up truck a going through the intersection, west bound on 88th Avenue. The impact sent the truck into a bus stop where two unidentified females were waiting for the bus. One of the females suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital by ambulance, while the other suffered only minor injuries. Both drivers involved remained at the scene. Investigators are working to determine the actions of both drivers prior to and during the collision.

The Surrey RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) is investigating with the assistance of the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS). Traffic in the area is expected to be shutdown while officers investigate.
