Surrey: Linda Hepner elected as new mayor of Surrey. She had 50782 votes, her opponents McCallum had 28010 and Rasode 21,335.
The Surrey First candidate led the count decisively all night, pulling ahead of her main challengers, Doug McCallum (Safe Surrey Coalition) and Barinder Rasode (One Surrey).
Linda Hepner proved political experts wrong andcruise to a landslide victory. Hepner had a couple of major advantages over her opponents: a well organized and well financed team at her disposal. More importantly, Hepner secured the endorsement of outgoing mayor Dianne Watts.
