Prince George: Police are confirming that the bodies of two persons have been recovered from a vehicle that was pulled from a rural lake. The Prince George RCMP coordinated the removal of a vehicle from Kwitzil Lake with the assistance from the BC RCMP’s Underwater Recovery Team. Upon inspection of the vehicle, one male and one female were located deceased in the vehicle.
Police began their investigation after they received a report of a vehicle that had gone into Kwitzil Lake, more commonly known as Gravel Pit Lake. Indications were that two persons were in the vehicle.
“The RCMP, the Beaverly Volunteer Fire Department and the BC Ambulance Service attended the scene. The area was the location of a large party throughout the night“, said Cpl. Craig Douglass.
The investigation is continuing in partnership with the BC Coroners Service.
