New Delhi: The 27 MLAs of Aam Aadmi Party, all first timers with no political experience, are getting a crash course on how to deal with the electorate. The party is training them in conducting mohalla sabhas in which each constituency will decide on how to spend the Rs 4 crore of the MLA local area development fund.

While a few MLAs have been conducting such meetings in their constituencies, others will start soon. It’s only by the end of next week that any clarity emerge on what projects will be taken up by each. Party chief Arvind Kejriwal held a review meeting with MLAs and appeared satisfied with how the matter was being dealt with. The only worry is that work needs to be sanctioned before the model code of conduct for next election is enforced. While no date has so far been set for fresh polls in Delhi, MLAs will have about 2-3 months to get work started.
