SURREY RCMP announced on Tuesday that they had recovered a vehicle believed to be involved in a pedestrian hit-and-run incident that left the victim with serious injuries after being knocked off his motorized wheelchair.

Thanks to a tip received from an observant member of the public who recalled the vehicle’s description from a news broadcast, investigators have recovered a purple 2000 Honda Civic they believe to be involved in this incident.

“Our request for assistance resulted in exactly the kind of outcome we hoped to receive from our community to assist our efforts,” said Surrey RCMP Cpl. Bert Paquet. “We would like to thank them and our partners in the media for their assistance.”

Surrey RCMP continue to investigate this incident in order to confirm the driver of the vehicle.

Anyone with further information about this incident is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca.
